"My journey began at 13, when my mom gave me my first camera. She’s an architect, and I think her passion for geometry shaped the way I see the world—lines, reflections, and compositions have always fascinated me."

It was this early gift that set Edin Sarvan on a lifelong path. At only 14, he photographed his first wedding. While many couples hesitated to trust a teenager with such a responsibility, those who did gave him the encouragement he needed. "The amazing feedback from those who gave me a chance kept lifting me higher and higher. Their belief in me, even at that young age, is something I’ll be forever thankful for—it gave me the foundation to grow into the photographer I am today."

Lessons From Documentary Work

Before fully immersing himself in weddings, Edin held a remarkable role: working as the president’s photographer. This experience brought him around the globe and face-to-face with world leaders. "That experience gave me the chance to do pure documentary work—storytelling through authentic moments and powerful compositions. That kind of photography, where the image speaks entirely on its own, is still the work I love the most."

Later, his university studies in graphic design refined his understanding of light, space, and narrative. This design background allowed him to view photography not just as documentation but as art.

Building a Global Career

In 2019, a wedding in Switzerland changed everything. "That’s when everything began to expand worldwide," he explains. Since then, Edin has photographed weddings in countless destinations, each one an opportunity to discover new traditions, cultures, and families.

"Experiencing new destinations, traditions, and families has made this journey even more beautiful—it’s about more than photos, it’s about connection and pure human joy."

A Creative Partnership

Edin’s journey took another turn two years ago when Dina—his life partner and second shooter—joined him. With her Master’s in art and design, she brings a fresh artistic dimension. "She’s a true artist with a background in sculpture, painting, and abstract art. Together, we blend my eye for composition and storytelling with her bold creativity, turning every wedding into something timeless and unique."

Style and Philosophy

When asked to define his style, Edin is clear: "I would describe my photography style as totally modern and editorial. I’m not the kind of photographer who delivers a full gallery of just flash-lit, strictly posed images. While I love creating artistic and authentic editorial photos, what truly drives me is capturing candid moments."

The balance lies in combining editorial precision with natural storytelling. "We live for the real stories, the subtle compositions, and above all, the emotions—the expressions on people’s faces that make a moment unforgettable."

Tools of the Trade

Edin works with professional full-frame cameras, prime and zoom lenses, and lighting tools that enhance rather than overshadow natural light. Still, he insists that equipment isn’t the core: "For me, equipment is just a tool; it’s the eye, the storytelling, and attention to detail that really make the photos special."

His post-production process is equally intentional. "I’ve always been known for my unique editing style. I’ve created my own presets to achieve the colors I want—slightly contrasty, yet natural and vibrant. My goal is to create a look that feels editorial and cinematic, but still real—bringing out the emotion and story in every frame."

What Fuels His Passion

Beyond the artistry, it’s the relationships that keep Edin inspired. "I’ve had brides say, ‘If Edin doesn’t photograph my wedding, I don’t want anyone else,’ and even reschedule their weddings just to work with me. That kind of trust and appreciation fills me in a way that’s hard to describe."

Every couple becomes part of his journey. "There’s something really special about seeing their happiness when they view their images, knowing we captured their memories authentically. And now, working alongside my partner and being a couple ourselves, it feels like there’s an even deeper connection with the couples we photograph."

Working With Couples

For Edin, the process is always collaborative. "I take the time to really get to know them—their personalities, their story, and what’s most important for their wedding day. From there, I develop my own ideas and style to tell their story in a way that feels unique to them."

Preparation matters too: he encourages couples to focus on stationery, accessories, and details that allow him to create a narrative. He recommends building in relaxed time for getting ready and prioritizing golden-hour shoots. "Those moments truly show who the couple is and create some of the most authentic and emotional photos."

Destination Weddings and Favorite Places

Destination weddings are at the heart of his work. Italy, Spain, Croatia, and Montenegro all hold a special place in his heart—but two destinations stand above the rest. "Lake Como and Tuscany will be forever our favourites."

Looking Ahead

After 13 years, more than 400 weddings, and countless miles traveled, Edin remains as passionate as ever. "Today I focus exclusively on destination weddings, working with modern couples who share the same passion for art and authenticity. For me, each wedding is not just a story—it’s a chance to create a piece of modern art."
