Grace Troutman is more than a photographer—she is a mother, wife, avid traveler, and storyteller whose heart beats for documenting authentic love. Born and raised in the Midwest, Grace has called Arizona, California, and Hawaii home throughout her life. These landscapes, from the sweeping desert to the rolling ocean waves, have shaped the way she sees beauty and emotion through her lens.
“I’m a mother, wife, frequent flyer, and someone who loves documenting love in a unique way,” Grace shares. “If I’m not photographing weddings, you’ll likely find me with my three daughters and husband or baking something from scratch. I miss the ocean more than life itself, and I know I’ll make my way back someday.”
After nearly a decade in the industry and close to 300 weddings captured, Grace has carved out a reputation for her calm energy, her ability to connect deeply with couples, and her remarkable eye for the moments that define a wedding day.
Grace began her professional journey 10 years ago, quickly finding herself immersed in the energy of weddings across the United States and beyond. Her camera has followed love stories from the cliffs of Ireland to the warmth of Mexico, the elegance of France, and the lush landscapes of Hawaii.
When asked to define her aesthetic, Grace describes it as documentary with a twist of editorial. Her photography captures raw, unposed moments while weaving in a touch of artistry that elevates the images into timeless heirlooms.
She uses a thoughtful combination of digital and film, a balance that gives her work both precision and warmth. “Film brings out some of the best photos on wedding days,” she explains. “There’s a richness and depth that is unmatched.”
Grace primarily shoots with Canon R6s paired with a 28–70mm lens, alongside a series of 35mm and 120mm film cameras. Her editing process is equally intentional: “I edit with my own presets in Lightroom that I’ve curated over the years, and I use professional labs to process my film.”
The result? A gallery that feels cohesive, refined, and deeply personal.
For Grace, photography goes far beyond the click of a shutter. She approaches each wedding with a calm presence and a laid-back energy, helping couples feel at ease on one of the most emotional days of their lives.
“It’s like I’m being invited into stories only they know,” she says. “I get to know them on a deeper level, and I can be so much more creative when I understand who they are, who’s important to them, and why.”
This connection allows her to create work that is not just beautiful but deeply meaningful.
Grace is no stranger to boarding a plane for love. She has photographed weddings in Iceland, Ireland, France, Mexico, Hawaii, and across the U.S.
When asked about her favorite place to shoot, her answer carries both nostalgia and longing: “Anywhere in Hawaii or the South of France.” These locations embody the elegance, vibrancy, and timeless beauty that inspire her art.
Grace also offers thoughtful advice for couples planning their wedding day:
Hire a planner. “They take off so much stress, so you can actually enjoy your time planning.”
Trust your photographer. “The more trust you have and the less restricted your creative team is, the better your images will turn out.”
Her biggest piece of wisdom, however, is rooted in legacy: “Details of the day are important, yes, but images filled with authenticity and honesty are the ones that will be passed down for generations. That’s the true gift.”
More than anything, Grace Troutman sees her work as a legacy of love. The galleries she delivers to her couples are not just albums to flip through once a year—they are treasures to be cherished by children and grandchildren for decades to come.
With her mix of documentary storytelling, editorial elegance, and heartfelt dedication, Grace continues to transform fleeting wedding moments into timeless memories.
