150 Guests, Five Michelin Stars, and One Stunning Castle: Cintya and Unai’s Wedding at Castillo de Perlada

Love Story

"I was living in Seville, and Unai was a football player for Athletic Club de Bilbao," Cintya tells us. "He saw photos of me and came all the way to the south of Spain to meet me." It wasn't exactly a short trip. "We got to know each other, but he went back because he was still playing in Bilbao, yet he never stopped writing to me," she remembers. "Whenever football allowed him, he would travel down to Seville to see me, and that's how our love story began..."

The proposal came later, after they'd already welcomed their daughter Gara. "The proposal happened on the beach. Unai suggested that we go for a picnic with our baby, and there, with the most beautiful sunset, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him."

About Your Wedding

Cintya knew exactly what she wanted. "I wanted a romantic wedding, but above all, an elegant one, which is why I put myself in the hands of my wedding planners, Sophie Kors. I knew they would understand that concept perfectly. I had seen them on Instagram and thought they were incredibly stylish, so I wanted to trust the best team. I had just become a mother and wanted to work with a company that understood the kind of wedding we envisioned, and they executed it perfectly."

The venue drove everything else. "Without a doubt, the venue itself was the inspiration for our wedding—a 14th-century castle that is truly breathtaking," Cintya says. "The medieval lines of the castle made me feel like a true princess."

When we asked about their most memorable moment, both gave the same answer. "For us, without a doubt, the highlight of the wedding was our first dance on a platform set up in the middle of the castle's lake. We danced to the notes of a live piano while hundreds of fireworks lit up the entire sky with color. It was a magical moment that we will always remember, and one that all of our guests will never forget."

Morning Details

The invitations set the tone from the start. "The invitations were designed by my wedding planners, following a slightly medieval aesthetic," Cintya explains. "Everything was connected to the castle where we had decided to say 'I do.' They were printed on 100% cotton paper, with subtle nods to an old parchment."

Their wedding rings have a sweet backstory. "One afternoon we were walking along Calle Serrano in Madrid, and we stopped in front of the Rabat jewelry store window. We looked at each other and, without thinking twice, we went inside to choose our wedding rings." Cintya also wore something deeply personal. "Aside from my engagement ring, I was wearing a necklace from Joyería Suárez that Unai gave me on the day my daughter was born."

Bride Getting Ready

Cintya wore two Rosa Clará dresses, but her ceremony gown was something extraordinary. "I wore two dresses by Rosa Clará, but above all, my wedding dress was a completely exclusive design, created especially for me. It featured a halter neckline in crepe silk, with delicate mother-of-pearl flowers adorning the collar."

"The second dress I wore for the dance I found in a Rosa Clará boutique. It had a sexier style, with a sweetheart neckline and embellished with crystals. In contrast, my wedding dress was personally designed by Rosa from scratch, a true privilege and an absolute honor."

Her getting ready took place at Hotel Perelada. "My photoshoot took place at the Hotel Perelada, which is located within the same resort as Perelada Castle, but features very carefully designed, modern interiors."
She kept the accessories elegant. "The veil was also by Rosa Clará, and the shoes were by Jimmy Choo."

The bouquet was pure romance. "My florist was Pedro Navarro, whom I consider one of the best floral artists in Spain. For my wedding, I wanted the flowers to play a leading role, as I absolutely love them, especially peonies. My bridal bouquet was composed of peonies and David Austin-style roses."

Her morning was intimate and sweet. "I was in my suite with my little daughter, my mother, and my grandparents. I was also with Anna, my wedding planner from Sophie Kors, who was extremely attentive to the whole family the entire time."

Groom Getting Ready

Unai went for classic sophistication. "My groom's suit was by Tom Ford," Cintya shares. He got ready with his inner circle. "Unai got dressed together with his brother, friends, and his father in another suite at Hotel Perelada."

Ceremony

"We are Catholic, and the ceremony took place at the 14th-century Church of El Carmen, a beautiful Gothic church, and the ceremony was accompanied by a trio of violins," Cintya tells us. The music choices mixed sacred and personal. "All the musical pieces were religious, such as Ave Maria or Amazing Grace, but I walked down the aisle to Mariah Carey's song 'My All,' and I still get nervous when I remember that music and myself walking down the aisle toward the altar."

The most emotional moment involved their daughter. "It was very emotional when the priest called our little daughter and she came up to the altar with us. The three of us were together at the altar receiving the final blessing, and for us having our little daughter there was incredibly emotional, and for our families as well. I remember perfectly how they were crying with emotion."

Photoshoot After The Ceremony

"The photoshoot took place after the Catholic ceremony. We went to the castle towers and the area where the banquet tables were set up—it looked so beautiful with thousands of flowers," Cintya says. "We took advantage of the fact that there were no guests yet to take some pictures there."

Photographer Raquel Benito captured them against medieval stone and elaborate florals, creating images that felt like they belonged in a storybook.

Wedding Venue & Decor

Castillo de Perelada was the obvious choice. "I was clear that I wanted to get married in a real castle, and Perelada was perfect because we could have the ceremony in the church there, followed by the banquet and the disco. It was also very convenient for all the guests, especially the Bilbao football team, since there is a hotel on site, which is fantastic."

The color story was soft and romantic. "The color palette consisted of pastel tones, ranging from dusty pink to a deeper shade of pink." They personalized the castle itself. "On the castle's façade, we hung banners, in the style of medieval pennants, with our initials. The menu cards were also made of 100% cotton paper with a velvet ribbon and our initials as well."

Pedro Navarro's florals transformed the spaces completely, with thousands of blooms creating lush installations throughout the castle grounds.

Reception

Their first dance song was "ADMV by Maluma"—performed on that incredible platform in the middle of the castle's lake, with fireworks exploding overhead.

The food was handled by a legend. "Our chef was Paco Pérez, a leading figure in Spanish haute cuisine, famous for holding five Michelin stars across his restaurants. His cuisine, focused on the Mediterranean, is characterized by exceptional product quality and creativity. However, we also wanted to give a nod to my husband's homeland, Bilbao, with the white wine, which was a Txakoli." Paco Pérez's catering team also created the wedding cake.

The entertainment kept going all night—Cosita Wena for cocktails, Mucho Fieston for the disco, DJs Jose de las Heras and ReMax, and even a performance by singer Omar Montes.

Looking back, the couple's gratitude is clear. "For us, it was a dream wedding, better than we had ever imagined. It exceeded all expectations, and we would especially like to thank the Sophie Kors team, our wedding planners, who made possible a wedding we will never forget."
